The Wharf Photography Field Workshop
DATE: Saturday, July 12, 2008 10am-3pm.
LOCATION: Pier 39, the Cannery and Ghirardelli Square,
San Francisco, California.
TUITION: $225 USD.
DEPOSIT: A $25 USD non-refundable deposit holds your space.
DISCOUNT: There is a $25 early registration discount if full payment. Discounts are available for veterans, those with limited income, and the chronically ill. is received by June 5, 2008.
EXPERIENCE: Designed for enthusiasts and professionals, beginner to advanced.
EQUIPMENT: Any camera will work, digital or film, 35mm to large format. Bring your digital camera, owner’s manual, plenty of charged batteries, and extra storage media or film.
MAXIMUM WORKSHOP SIZE: 6 photographers, non-photographic companion not included.
NON-PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPANION: You may bring along your non-photographic companion: a daughter, son, or significant other. There is no tuition for your non-photographic companion.
BREAKS: We always take an extended break, and sometimes eat lunch together.
CHANGES: Workshop itineraries are subject to change depending on class size and weather conditions.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT: I will acknowledge your workshop registration and reserve your place upon receipt of your deposit or tuition payment. I will then email to you workshop details and a bill for the balance.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Your payment is non-refundable if you cancel for any reason. However, I will apply your payment to a future workshop if I can fill your space. If I cancel the workshop, your payment is fully refundable.
ESSENCE: This workshop is developed by a photographer for photographers.
NOTE:Since weather can be unpredictable, come prepared for rain and high winds. Dress casually in layers for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.

Does creating a travel photo essay sound exciting? Are you interested in learning how to stimulate your creativity, and gain fresh photographic ideas? Are you not realizing your photographic artistic vision? Then, this field workshop is for you.
Learn how to connect with and photograph the stranger on the street Document the events and people that you meet. Bring your model release to photograph musicians, magicians, pantomimes and other street performers.
We will photograph the Fisherman’s Wharf area, which runs from the National Maritime Museum, Ghiradelli Square, and The Cannery, down Jefferson Street to PIER 39.
In this photographically rich environment, there is an almost endless variety of photo possibilities.
We will photograph historic military and commercial ships from Pier 39, the San Francisco Carousel on the Wharf, the large colony of noisy California Sea Lions at West Marina on K-Dock and much more.
We will also photograph the panoramic San Francisco Bay views of the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges, Alcatraz, Angel Island and the City skyline.
